Sir Harry Platt, 1st Baronet, FRCS (October 7, 1886 - December 20, 1986) was a British orthopedic surgeon, President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (1954-1957). He was the founder of the British Orthopedic Association, where he became President in 1934-1935.

He was born in Thornham, Royton, Lancashire, son of Ernest Platt, velvet cutters and then chairman of United Velvet Cutters, Ltd. Harry developed a knee tuberculosis as a child and early education at home. He entered the University of Victoria Manchester to study medicine and was eligible in 1909 from the University of Victoria and London. After appointment of resident and registrar he showed anatomy at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. His orthopedic training was primarily at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in London, and in Boston, USA. Upon his return to England in 1914 he was appointed a surgeon at Ancoats Hospital, but at the time of the outbreak of World War I he was appointed a surgeon in charge of the military orthopedic center in Manchester as captain of the Royal Army Medical Corps.
In 1932, his post included a senior honor surgeon and surgeon responsible for orthopedic services, Ancoats Hospital, as a consultant orthopedic surgeon for the Lancashire County Council and in 1939 he advanced on his previous status as a clinical lecturer in orthopedic surgery at Manchester University when he was appointed professor. He became a Knight Scholar in 1948.
He was elected to the Royal College of Surgeons Council in 1940, serving there for eighteen years, and was elected Vice President in 1949-50 and President 1954-1957, who was appointed as a baronet to complete his term of office as president. He delivered Bradshaw's Lecture to the Royal College of Surgeons in 1950 on bone sarcoma.
In 1959 he produced the Platt Report that encouraged hospitals to allow parents to visit and care for their children in hospitals far more than was previously permitted. This is the result of a three-year investigation by a committee set up to investigate the well-being of children in the hospital, as opposed to their medical needs. Before the time of the visit this parent is usually limited to only a few hours a week.
Platt has been heavily influenced by Robert Jones's work in Liverpool and with his training in the US. He continues to be inspired by US methods for training and medical organizations. Among the people he influenced in turn was John Charnley.
