Calliope Iphegenia " Callie " Torres , MD is a fictional character from the drama television drama Gray Anatomy, which airs on ABC in the United States. The character was created by serial producer Shonda Rhimes, and played by Sara Ramirez. She was introduced in season two, as a senior orthopedic resident, as a love interest to George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) internship. Finally becoming an orthopedic surgeon who came, the character was initially contracted to appear repeatedly, but received a star billing in the third season.

Callie Torres was introduced as a resident of orthopedic surgery with a crush on George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) internship. Both started a relationship and Torres moved to Meredith's house (Meredith and Izzie Stevens live there as well). When Robbins won a prestigious grant to help take care of the children in Malawi, the dissatisfied Torres agreed to move there with him, because the position would last for three years; However, his lack of enthusiasm caused Robbins to end their relationship and leave without him. Torres is heartbroken moving in with Sloan, and they have a one-night stand. Robbins returns for Torres, apologizes and hopes to forgive, but Torres initially dismisses him, and then reveals that he's pregnant with Sloan's baby. After the plane crash that killed Sloan and Lexie Gray (Chyler Leigh), Torres was forced to make a decision to have Alex Karev amputate Robbins's left leg to keep him alive, which puts a strain on their relationship. The hospital was sued and ultimately found guilty of negligence. Every victim, including Robbins, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo), and Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) had to receive $ 15 million of compensation, which caused the hospital to almost bankrupt because the insurance refused to pay.
