The Bank of Hope Founders Cup is a professional women's golf tournament at the LPGA Tour in Phoenix, Arizona. It debuted in 2011 at Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. The tournament was designed as a tribute to the founders of the LPGA.
The current title sponsor of the tournament is JTBC, the cable TV network and the national broadcasting company of South Korea.
In 2011, using a unique format made for the first time in the LPGA's history, the players did not receive cash payments. Instead, the tournament donates half of the $ 1 million tournaments to charities and the other half to individual charities selected by top-10 finishers. All players who make a piece receive a portion of the wallet in the form of virtual income associated with them for the purpose of the official LPGA money list.
In 2012, the tournament is extended from three days to four days, and an actual cash purse is institutionalized.
The previous LPGA Tour event in the Phoenix area was J Golf Phoenix LPGA International, which lasted for thirty years (1980-2009) by various names.
