Ballet shoes , or ballet shoes , are light shoes specifically designed for ballet dancing. It can be made of soft leather, canvas, or satin, and has a flexible and thin sole. Traditionally, women wear pink shoes and men wear white or black shoes. Sand-colored sandals - which do not interfere and thus provide the appearance of barefoot dancing - are worn in modern ballet and sometimes modern dances by men and women.
All dancers usually wear ballet slippers at the start of the ballet class, while female dancers can turn into pointe shoes for work and center performance.

Ballet shoes traditionally have a leather sole that does not reach up to the shoe's edge. Modern development is a split sole, which gives greater flexibility and emphasizes the shape of the foot when pointed. They are usually made of soft leather, canvas or satin. The leather shoes are durable. Canvas shoes are cheaper but wear leather ballet shoes faster than average. Satin Shoes are often used for performances but can wear out very quickly.
Shoes are secured by the use of elastic, most often with a single ribbon in the arch of the foot, or with two bands crossed in the form of "X" at the top of the arch. In the case of double-band shoes, some ballet shoe manufacturers will attach one end of each band to the shoe as part of the production process, and hand it over to the buyer to install the free end of the band for optimal fit.
