The Houston Heights Woman's Club was held in 1900 to support every literary and scientific venture; library maintenance; and promotes painting, music and other fine arts. When the founding members of the Club adopted the Constitution and Bylaws in 1905, they were included to "assist and encourage the charity and education interests of Houston Heights" as an important part of the Club's goals.
The original group, now known as the Club-Heritage Club Club of Houston Heights, remains strong after 100 years. This community-friendly, community-oriented generation has contributed to the history of the larger Heights and Houston since 1900, and has been at the forefront of Women's issues ever since. They gather regularly for meetings and lunch luncheons, and enjoy various other activities throughout the year including community service projects, charity fundraising, sightseeing events and social events.
In 2007 the Group of Women-Evening Club Houston Heights was established.

History
Houston Heights Woman's Club (HHWC) is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established to maintain the integrity of the Club's history and its clubs, and provide social and charitable opportunities for its members.
Houston Heights Woman's Club was founded in 1900, part of a larger women's club movement across the country. What started when the Houston Heights Literary Club soon went beyond the living room of its members. In 1912, the Clubhouse in 1846 Harvard became the official home of Houston Heights Woman's Club. This club will be part of the highland environment. Through volunteerism and social activities, generations of members have maintained the legacy of living HHWC.
Today, this Club is developing while others are stalled. This is due in part to the strong ties the highlanders feel for their environment and history. It can also be credited to the advanced thinking properties of women who have helped HHWC over the last century. Club Collect
Oleh Mary Stewart, 1904 *
Keep us away from all the pettiness; Let's think big, in words and deeds. Let's finish with the searching error and stop searching for yourself. May we remove all pretenses and meet face to face, without self-pity and without prejudice. May we never rush in judgment and always be generous. Let's take time for everything; Teach us to practice our impulse better, straightforward and not afraid. Give that we may realize that it is the little things that Make the difference, That in the big things in our life is one. And, may we try to touch and know the heart of the great Great woman of all of us, And, Lord, let us not forget to be kind.
- Written in 1904 by Mary Stewart, then principal. Mary said of her poem, "It was written as a prayer for the day.I called 'Collect For Club Women' because I feel that women working together with wide interests for a great purpose are new things under the sun, and that they may have a need special petitions and their own mediation. "Like many women's organizations throughout the country, we strongly believe in Mary's message that we recite her poetry at the beginning of each meeting.
