Founded in 1872, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA in Cape Town is the founding community of the SPCA movement in South Africa and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the country. Registered non-profit organizations and Public Benefit Organizations, communities affiliated with the Royal Society for Protection of Animals (RSPCA) and Executive Members of the SPCA National Council of South Africa (NSPCA), as well as members of the World Animal Protection Organization.

Mobile Clinics
Cape of Good Hope The SPCA Mobile Clinic program operates in informal settlements and impoverished communities around Cape Town, the mobile unit provides primary animal care and educates owners about responsible pet care. Giving worms, worms and vaccinations is one of the vital services they provide. Animals in need of sterilization - and those who are sick or injured - are transported to the Tanjung SPCA Animal Hospital of Harapan Hope for further treatment, and return to their owners thereafter.
On August 24, 2015, the first Mobile Clinic operating in Gugulethu was launched. This was made possible by residents of Thamsanqa Paliso, who approached the Proportional Representative (PR) Member of the Council of Constance Leputhing, from Ward 44, to arrange with the Cape of Good Hope SPCA to launch Mobile Clinic in the area.
2014 Charity Shop Fire
On November 14, 2014, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA Charity Shop burns in what is suspected of arson attacks. Fire can not be contained by firefighters, and then the entire charity shop consisting of three Wendy houses was destroyed.
