Professional career
Todd joined the Nationwide Tour in 2008. That year he won the Utah Championship, and finished 19th on the money list, earning him a spot on the PGA Tour in 2009.
At the 2009 Athens Classical National Foundation on the National Tour, Todd became the first player on the Tour to ace the same hole twice in the same tournament. On April 16, during the first half, his ace at 157 yards, par-3, 17 holes, came with 7-iron. The next day, the ace came with 8-iron from 147 meters. In his rookie season on the PGA Tour in 2009, he only made 5 of 21 trimming, and did not get a tour card for 2010.
Todd rejoined the Nationwide Tour in 2010. In 2011, he had a steady season on the tour, and won medals at the season-end qualifying school to return to the PGA Tour. In 2012, he is the last person to maintain any status on the PGA Tour. The finish of 150 on the PGA Tour money list means that he maintains a conditional status and avoids the second round of Q School. As a member of the 126-150 category on the PGA Tour, Todd also has a full Web.com Tour status.
In 2013, Todd won his second Tour Web.com Tour, the 2013 Classic Stadium at UGA. He finished 20th on the 2013 Web.com Tour regular season money list, earning him a 2014 PGA Tour card.
On May 18, 2014, Todd won his first PGA Tour event, early in the 77th at HP's Byron Nelson Championship. Todd shot free round bogey 66 on the final day to finish two strokes ahead of Mike Weir. The victory resulted in Todd's release of the two-year tour and ensured his first visit to The Masters in 2015. He followed up his victory with the T5 at Crowne Plaza Invitational in Colonial to move into the Top 60 on Official World Golf Ranking. Therefore, he entered his first major, the US Open, where he finished 17th.
Todd was ranked 41st in the world by 2014, but a string of poor results and lost cuts resulted in him losing PGA Tour cards after the 2015-16 season.
