There are a number of media ministries associated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It comes in print, radio and television and reaches countries around the world. The Adventist Church has a long history of media-based communications, which grew out of the 1840s Millerite movement that used a lot of print media. Some media ministries are funded directly by the church, while others are self-reliant organizations that rely on donations.

All major Adventist broadcasting ministries have been involved in worldwide outreach through various crusades and rallies. Worldwide outreach is also done by Adventist World Radio mostly through short wave radio transmissions, but also through AM, FM, satellite, the Internet, including social media platforms, and direct-to-home satellite radio transmissions. Broadcasting is currently conducted from 10 transmitting sites in Africa, Asia, Europe, and America.

Faith For Today was launched in May 1950 by William and Virginia Fagal and is fully sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. From its inception, Faith For Today strives to reach broad and diverse television audiences. In December 1950, it became the first authentic national religious broadcast in North America. Since the first broadcast, Faith For Today offers viewers of Bible studies, books, and other spiritual and personal growth materials. For nearly 20 years, the format of the Faith For Today program is similar to the popular variety show of that era. Featuring music by Faith For Today Quartet, discussions, special guests, short short dramas, and inspirational comments by William Fagal, audience interest remains involved when communicating the fundamentals of Christianity. In 1972, Faith For Today moved its format into a weekly dramatic series called Westbrook Hospital (while technically the series was originally called "Faith For Today"). (References @ http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/westbrook-hospital/205421).

Then the previous episodes, entitled, became an inclusive composite in the newly titled series in 1975. (References @ http://www.adventistmediacenter.com/article/22/about-us/history).

Thus, unsurprisingly missing is their signature of the acclaimed "Westbrook Hospital" credit opening, the title of the video theme song sequence in the early episodes, with various dates attributed to the early series having been floated as 1969, 1971, 1972. The drama first characterized the person people involved, dealing with every day problem in every day arrangement, then -circa 1971- the drama then moved into the hospital setting, while continuing to show that Christian virtues like honesty and love work in the real world. A total of 59 episodes were aired. (References @ satellite.mcminnvilleadventist.org/shows/series/83).

Currently, the Faith For Today program includes McDougall, M.D. , The Evidence and Lifestyle Magazine . This ministry, led by Mike Tucker, is proud to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the broadcast.
