History

Hope International University (HIU) was founded in 1928 as Pacific Bible Seminary, and in 1962 it was renamed Pacific Christian College after moving to Long Beach, California. In 1997 the school won university status and took the company's name from Hope International University. In the fall of 2011, Expectancy shifted from two colleges: Pacific Christian College (traditional, residential scholars) and Graduate School and Professional Studies (for working adults, online education/distance education degree, master's degree) to five colleges, each headed by the college dean.

HIU completed its merger with Nebraska Christian College (NCC) from Papillion, Nebraska in May 2016. In early 2015, HIU signed a memorandum of understanding with the NCC to explore possible partnerships between two old Christian higher education institutions. The exploration culminated in the decision to join.

Sister schools share affiliation with the Christian Church Restoration Movement and have a combined heritage of more than 160 years. Campuses will utilize an integrated campus management system, share online learning and classroom technology, and have access to library resources and research databases.

Campus

Main campus

The main campus of Hope International University is located in North Orange County, in the city of Fullerton, California. University libraries, student centers, gymnasiums, student feeding facilities, bookstores, on-campus housing, and major administrative offices are located on the Fullerton campus, such as classrooms, faculty offices, and administrative offices.

The majority of the buildings on the main campus were originally the student center, the cinema (Titan Theater), and the dorm built by the California State University Foundation in the late 1960s. These are some of the remaining examples of pure Googie style architecture in southern California, considered by some as the largest collection of modern Googie architecture left in the world. The buildings were designed by Eldon Davis, who, along with his partner Louis Armet, founded one of the most famous architectural firms in the history of Los Angeles. Armet & amp; Davis essentially defines the genre of Googie architecture in the postwar period.

Anaheim Education Center

The Anaheim Education Center is located at Towers Stadium, on Katella Avenue from 57 Freeway in Anaheim, adjacent to Angel's Stadium and Anaheim Amtrak/Metro Link Station. Classrooms, faculty offices and administrative offices for online undergraduate and graduate programs are located in the Anaheim Education Center. Everett Washington Education Center

Hope International University has partnered with the Everett University Center to provide our students in Northwest with comfortable, top-level education opportunities. Becoming a member of the Everett University Center allows Hope to provide excellent educational resources for our students living and working in the Northwest. Hope has a full-time Regional Director on-site to serve as a liaison for WA students who need help with financial assistance, lecture schedules, and enrollments. Students are connected with an academic coach who helps provide customized course schedules and other resources to help students meet their academic, professional and personal goals.

Nebraska Christian College

The NCC Campus in Papillion, NE, covers 80 acres of land with 60,000 square meters of classrooms, dorm rooms, student centers, cafeterias, and faculty/staff offices.
