Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. ( ????????????????? , Kabushikigaisha Gurasuhopp? Manifakuchua ) is a Japanese video game developer founded on March 30, 1998 in Suginami, Japan. Grasshopper received major attention in 2005 for GameCube and PlayStation 2 Killer7 games. In addition to Killer7 , they have developed Michigan: Reports from Hell (released in Japan, Europe) and a number of Japanese only titles. Grasshopper Manufacture is also responsible for Nintendo DS Contact games, Wii No More Heroes and the sequel , and > Shadows of the Damned . The company is headed by Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51, and is renowned for its original and imaginative title - which is also fraught with financial risks. Potential losses are often made by game development based on popular anime franchises, such as Samurai Champloo: Sea Cucumber , Blood: One Night Kiss , and Rebuild of Evangelion: Voice Impact .

In May 2007, Suda announced during a speech at the 2007 Developer Game Conference that Grasshopper at the time was working on three titles for the Wii, two of which have now been released: No More Heroes and Fatal Frame IV . There is no information about the status of the third Wii game in that development.

Grasshopper is said to work on the title of Xbox 360, and has presented the concept for the PlayStation 3 game called Kurayami , an adventure inspired by a worrying and confused nature of the Czech writer Franz Kafka, admired Goichi Suda. This was later canceled and the incorporation idea was included in the game Shadows of the Damned .

Employee counts doubled in the 18 to 140 range in 2011.

On January 30, 2013, Grasshopper Manufacture was acquired by GungHo Online Entertainment. They have released Let It Die .
