2RPH (a.k.a. Radio for the Print Disability) is an Australian radio reading service that reads newspapers and magazines for the benefit of those who have difficulty reading for themselves. This is the Sydney station of the RPH Network.
The 2RPH Sydney and 3RPH Melbourne are available free to air (no smartcard required) on the Optus Aurora radio platform via Optus C1 before switching to a more restrictive VAST platform. Now only Melbourne's 3RPH service is the only free-to-air RPH service available on Optus C1.

History
The need for radio reading service was realized in New South Wales in 1983 with the establishment of 2RPH as the Community Benefit Organization , incorporated in the Cooperative Society. The station began operations on April 18, 1983.
The first broadcast frequency is from the main broadcast tape (1629 kHz), and therefore does not match, as many people can not receive stations. The problem was partially solved by moving to a more suitable band location (1539 kHz, in 1991), and further in 1993 when the Commonwealth Government provided stations with transmission facilities previously used by 2WS commercial stations. These facilities are still in use and provide strong signals to most of Greater Sydney and some suburbs outside the metropolitan area.

Audience
Originally designed for people with impaired vision, elderly, and weak, today many English teachers instruct their students to listen and follow the word printed in the air.
Programming
Volunteers prepare, produce, and present all programs, including readings from magazines and other publications, which have been previously recorded. Many of these recorded programs are re-broadcast by RPH stations in other parts of Australia and Radio Reading Service in New Zealand. 2RPH is the largest supplier of programs for national network feeds.
Applicants for on-air jobs must pass a carefully designed audition to show their skills in reading aloud. Volunteer positions are often available for behind-the-scenes tasks.
