Description
The series covers "Genesis to Revelation" in "one great narrative," composed as a ten-hour episode broadcast in five pairs, with each episode containing two or three biblical stories told through direct action and computer-generated imagery. According to Burnett, it includes "clear" stories like Noah's Ark, the Exodus, and the life of Jesus Christ. Five hours taken from the Old Testament, five from New. The series is based on the New International Version and New New Version of the Bible Version.
Downey and Burnett say their "greatest hope" in making the series is "will influence the new generation of viewers and draw them back to the Bible."
"Part of what we want to accomplish with this series is to show the Bible not only a collection of unrelated stories that are often discussed and analyzed in snippets with chapter and verse numbers," the couple said in a review in The Huffington. Post. "Instead, we want to show how the Old Testament connects seamlessly to the New Testament. How they are one sweeping story with one great message that puts it aside: God loves each one of us as if we were the only people in the whole loving world. Differences from the Bible
There are claims about the resemblance of actors in the role of Satan (Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni) to US President Barack Obama. The first resemblance was shown primarily by Glenn Beck ahead of the premiere episode.
It leads the Channel History to announce,
The history of [C] hannel has the highest respect for President Obama. The Bible series is produced with international and diverse players from respected actors. It is unfortunate that anyone made this fake connection. The history of "The Bible" is meant to enlighten people on rich stories and deep history. "
Burnett and Downey responded in a joint statement,
This is totally nonsense. The actor who plays Satan, Mehdi Ouazanni, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played a part in several Biblical epics - including demon characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President.
Downey added separately,
"Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love for our president, who is a fellow Christian, such false statements are only designed as a foolish diversion to try and discredit the beauty of the biblical story.
