" Pilot " is the first episode of the supernatural drama television series Saving Hope . The episode premiered on June 7, 2012 in Canada on CTV, and simultaneously broadcast on NBC in the United States.

Sinopsis
In the episode, surgeon Alex Reid (Erica Durance) and his fiancé Charles Harris (Michael Shanks) were involved in a car accident while on their way to their wedding. A few minutes later, Charles fell into a coma. He is now experiencing life "hoping" that he will survive.

This episode was written by the creators of Malcolm MacRury and Morwyn Brebner series, and directed by David Wellington. MacRury has previously created Cra $ h & amp; Burn for the Global Television Network, and Brebner has previously created Rookie Blue as well for the Global Television Network. The main photography for the pilot installment begins in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Reception
"Pilot" received mixed reviews from television critics. The commentator notes that it is similar to Gray Anatomy , that "hope" almost withdraws, and worships the appearance of various cast members. After airing, the episode garnered 1.52 million viewers in Canada, debuting at # 1 in the country, and 3.124 million viewers in the United States ranked 0.7 in the 18-49 demographics, according to Nielsen ratings.
