Boxxy is a character performed by American Internet celebrity, vlogger, and voice actress Catherine " Catie " Wayne , which known for its very energetic vlog. The increase in popularity began in late 2008 and early 2009.
His video, under his YouTube account known as "boxxybabee", was originally created to be posted to his Gaia Online friend.

In January 2008, Wayne recorded two videos addressed to his friends at Gaia Online and uploaded them to YouTube with the boxxybabee alias. They are sent back to the i-am-bored.com site at the end of the year, and then finally appear in 4chan. Wayne responded to the popularity of his first video in a third video uploaded to his new YouTube channel, boxxybabee, in January 2009. The videos depicted Wayne with thick, rambling eyeliner on various subjects.
The video's presence was split on 4chan, with factions claiming to support or challenge Boxxy, which led to various fire wars and hacking incidents. This causes a denial-of-service attack on 4chan itself, closing the site for several hours. The participants went elsewhere, launching a "Twitter bomb" in May. On YouTube, popular Boxxy channels are hacked and source identities are forged. A number of parodies, parody videos and remixes posted around the web.
In March 2010, Urlesque was named Boxxy number 104 on the "The 100 Most Iconic Internet Videos" list. He came out of the top 100 list because his videos were relatively new at the time. At the end of 2010, Wayne started selling Boxxy stuff on eBay. On November 25, 2010, she uploaded an edited clip from the movie Star Wars Episode IV: New Hope under the aliases ANewHopeee . Original clip containing Princess Leia's holographic message to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Wayne replaces Princess Leia's speech with her own request for her fans' help in regaining access to her old account, boxxybabee .
On January 10, 2011, he posted a more introspective new video to his new YouTube account ( ANewHopeee ) where he explained that Boxxy is a contrived character and he acts. This video caused some discussion of its authenticity. On January 19, 2011, Boxxy was mentioned in a local Fox 11 report on the Internet troll.
On June 17, 2011, Wayne created a third YouTube account ( Bodaciousboxxy ) and continued uploading the video himself. In this video he claims that Boxxy in the January 2011 video is not the original Boxxy, but a girl very similar to him, who allegedly has been hacked by a character named "Svetlana ".

Between December 2013 and December 2014, Wayne is the host for the Animalist streaming series for Discovery Digital Networks.
In 2017, Wayne voiced Marsha's character for Disney XD's Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer.
