Jo Anne Lyon (born 1940 in Blackwell, Oklahoma) is Vice President of Seminary Wesley in Marion, Indiana. Lyon was previously the Inspector General of the Wesleyan Church. Lyon was elected the first female Inspector General at the June 2008 General Conference. In 2012 he was elected the sole General Supervisor of the denomination. Lyon was ordained minister of the Wesleyan Church in 1996 in the same year he founded World Hope International, an organization that wanted to alleviate suffering and injustice through education, enterprise, and public health.
Lyon has a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Cincinnati, a Master's in Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and further graduates working at St. University Louis in Historical Theology. He has been awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees from Northeast Seminary and United Wesleyan College and Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from both Wesleyan University and Indiana Wesleyan University.
