Fort Good Hope , formerly Fort Hope , also now known as Community Charter K'asho Got'ine ), is a charter community in the Region's Region Northwest, Canada. The town is located on a peninsula between Jackfish Creek and the eastern edge of the Mackenzie River, about 145 km (90 mi) northwest of Norman Wells. The two major languages ââare Northern Slavey and English. Hunting and trapping are the two main sources of income.

Demographics
According to the 2011 Census, the population was 515, a 7.5% decline from the 2006 Census. In 2006 the Aboriginal population was 515, of which 460 were North American Indians, 40 MÃÆ' à © tis people and 10 Inuits. In 2012, the Northwest Government reported that the population was 559 with an average annual growth rate of -0.5% from 2001.

Transportation
The only season-long access is through the air, Fort Good Hope Airport, with flights operated by North-Wright Airways from Inuvik, Norman Wells, and Colville Lake. This community is accessible in the summer using the Mackenzie River. There is no passenger service and this route is mainly used by the North Transport Company to cover the summer. Winter access is possible through winter roads from Wrigley located further south. The NWT government is seeking federal funds to help extend Mackenzie Highway from Wrigley to Tsiigehtchic, where it will connect with the Dempster Highway, in winter 2014 there are at least eight major river crossings in place for new roads, some of which are in use as crossings winter.
First Nations
Fort Good Hope is represented by K'asho Go'tine Community Council and belongs to the Dene Sahtu Council. Through their councils they negotiate with the Government of Canada for the settlement of land claims.
Education
Fort Good Hope currently has three institutes that provide some form of education. For pre-school, there is Fort Good Hope Daycare. Elementary, junior and senior high school students attend T'Selehye Head School. However, if someone attends the Aurora College Learning Center, located in the city, in a course of development a person can, if necessary, increase their grades from high school or improve their academic programs necessary for admission to College College or admission to colleges and universities.

Climate
Fort Good Hope experiences a subarctic climate, with very cold winters and short, warm summers. The highest temperatures ever recorded were 35.0 ° C (95 ° F) on June 20, 1911, July 11, 1920 and July 5, 1998. The coldest temperatures ever recorded were -56.1 ° C (-69 ° C F) on 31 January 1917 and 4 February 1947.
